How reliable is a Brtiax Roundabout carseat?

I was given a Britax Roundabout that's manufacture date is October 1998 (atleast that is the date on the carseat cover. whoever owned it before peeled the other stickers off). I am worried about using it, being that old, and don't know if it is safe to sell it to a consignment store either. Does anyone know if this carseat is still up to saftey standards?

That's almost 10 years old, while Britax is definitely a fantastic brand, I would reconsider. I know that some consignment stores buy car seat, but I would NEVER purchase one. You don't know the history and whether the integrity of the car seat has been jeopardized by an accident. Britax car seats go on sale often, I would look on line.
